Grand Island, NY | Les Miserables

Grand Island High School put on their annual musical and this year it was Les Miserables.
I think the kids did a great job.  I would have loved it if those in charge would have picked a musical
that was more for a high school audience.  Props to the cast, they had a tough task and pulled it off!

Dancer Girl

I finished this cropped version of a piece I did yesterday.
I am always intrigued  at how an image or idea can change with a simple perspective adjustment.
This was not the finished product I had in mind, like it just the same.

Hamburg (NY) Race Weekend 2011 | The Crit

Yes this is over the top in processing.  Sometimes I just have to play to get it out of my system after editing hundreds of images from a race weekend.   Thankfully we only shot the Criterium which was on Sunday.  It’s a nice little course with lots of places to shoot from.  My ankle held up nicely and it was really a perfect day for shooting.  Loved the sausage from Isabella’s Deli!  Looking forward to next year already.

Childhood

Another digital painting.  This one makes me smile.  ETA:  Decided that I like the crops better than the full size painting so I’ve hidden the full painting in the closet underneath the overcoat. *grin*

Grease {The Musical} Dress Rehearsal | St. Stephen’s

My hubby and I were able to shoot the first dress rehearsal for Grease that is playing this weekend at St. Stephen’s here on the island.
Looking forward to seeing them pull it all together for the actual performances.   I’m sorry that I’m not able to post images of everyone
that is involved.  We were shooting without flash, and they were practicing with the lighting during this rehearsal so it was sort of hit & miss
at times.  Hope everyone who sees these enjoys them!

How To Succeed At Business Without Really Trying | Grand Island High School 2011

The Grand Island High School did a nice job in putting on the above mentioned musical this year.  Closing night was fun, there were some really good line deliveries.  Hubby and I quite enjoyed the night.  The only downfall was having the orchestra pit on the floor in front of the stage, and the needless blocking off the first two rows of seating.  With the orchestra in front, it was nearly impossible to get any images without heads or instrument parts or LED’s  sticking up from the bottom, from a photographer’s point of view, not a good set up.  But at least we have a few images for keepsakes.  One musical down, one to go!

Rock-A-Billy Blues

Had an idea in my head to get an image that I wanted to play with.  The weather was a bit too cold and blowing snow to stay outside for long so I only grabbed a few to work with.  This is one.  Not exactly what I had in mind, but it turned out well enough.  I look forward to some fun shoots in the near future to get my creative juices flowing again.

NYS Cyclocross Championship 2010| Parma

Had the opportunity to shoot this cycling event in Parma, NY.  It was wicked windy and cold and I have no idea how these cyclists managed to race as hard as they did.  It was fun to watch and although I was frozen to the bone, I’d like to thank the town of Parma for the heated women’s bathroom!  Sometimes the smallest pleasures in life can be REALLY big when you need them *grin*.    Below are a few images from the event.

Hello world!

Just getting back into the swing of blogging so this might be slow moving at first. Still working at getting things uploaded and in the right place. It’s good to be back, I’ve missed sharing with you!
